Iā€™m a transit service/operations planning consultant with over a decade of experience in multimodal transportation planning, bus operations, facility design, policy and politics.

I co-founded and led TransitMatters, an influential Boston-based advocacy group which fights for a fast, frequent, reliable and equitable transportation network in Boston. We have begun to shifted the media and political discourse and achieved major victories such as a new overnight bus network, transit priority measures, steps toward fare integration and regional equity, and the adoption of our transformative, cost-effective Regional Rail Plan.

I have served on the board of CommonWheels, a nonprofit community focused bicycle collective, as well as on the LivableStreets Alliance Advocacy Committee and the Somerville Bicycle Committee, preparing and presenting innovative design solutions for safe walking and bicycle transportation.

I have operated transit buses and motor coaches in seven states and provinces, planning and executing shuttles, city transit, charters and multi-day regional tours.

Pandemics aside, I travel extensively by bicycle and local/regional transit to experience the challenges facing people and systems throughout the U.S. and abroad, and learn about best practices for addressing them.

On this site you can view my blog and podcast archives, including several of my bicycle/transit tours, and get in touch.
